For What It's Worth...

Lego Robots. Del.icio.us Replacement cellphone.

Brad I threw down at work Lego robot-style. My simple design and relatively complex program defeated his experimental spinning wheel of death design (with no program at all). Seeing some robot-vs-robot action adds yet another level of enjoyment to the whole Lego robot hobby. [Pictures soon] Jona has started preparing for SumoBot 6. If time allows, I’m going to try to “compete.”

I am addicted to yet another Rev. George suggestion: del.icio.us.

I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks for my replacement cellphone. I called T-Mobile this morning to see what the delay was. I was told that the phone was “backordered” and that I would be called back sometime today with more information. I’m not holding my breath.

Another drummer gets a new job… start making Spinal Tap jokes. Shed restoration.

Our fourth drummer has been offered a great paying job that conflicts with our practice and show schedule. It looks like we’ll be loosing Andy, too. Ironically, our previous drummer, Eric, is back in town. We’re meeting tonight to discuss options. Nonetheless, our show schedule will be affected. More to come.

Gina and I spent the entire weekend restoring the 12’x10′ shed in our yard. We sanded off all of the surface rust, repaired any holes, applied primer, replaced the roof, and repaired the doors. We’re hoping to paint it within the week. Conveniently, we’re having one of the windiest days I can remember.

Early AM work. Spring has sprung… sorta.

It’s 5:30 AM. I’ve been at work for two and a half hours. I left work after 9 PM yesterday. Sometimes setting a realistic timeline is unacceptable. However, reality is unavoidable. Some people (or departments) choose to live in an alternate reality. Their reality is one where they have no personal stake in outcomes, no ownership (except when it comes to “requesting” things), and no blame to accept when their reality is interrupted by true reality. That has to change soon… one way or another.

Michigan can be cruel, yet that seems to surprise the natives every time. “It was 60 yesterday, now it’s snowing!”… If I hear that again and I know that person has been in Michigan for over 18 months, I’m gonna smack them.

Archived System Update

Yup… you read it right. There’s finally a new article on the homepage. It’s mostly about my hobbies… It’s a sure-fire cure for insomnia!

I was oblivious to an apparently long-standing issue with the article archive links (left-hand column, homepage). When I set up the site to accept non-query based URIs, I broke the DB requests for the archive links. My bad.

One more Rogerbox show this Friday, then a break. George gets me hooked again.

Rogerbox is playing a show at the I-Rock this Friday. Please come check us out. After this show, we’ll be finishing up a few new songs, as well as prepare for some studio time. Then, we’ll be returning to the I-Rock in May for another performance.

In the grand tradition of seeing the stuff George is trying out, getting curious, and following him like a lost puppy, I’ve set up a del.icio.us page. So far, I like it. (I should probably thank George for doing all of the hard research for me sometime…)
