Home improvements. House hunt. Next airsoft skirmish scheduled.

Gina and I spent the previous 2 weekends finishing the ceiling trim on the 2nd floor. The irony of this is that the 2nd floor was the first project started in this house. I re-finished the floors and replaced the ceiling and electrical. I just never got around to doing the trim work. It was a complicated task full of compound mitred angles. However, it looks great now that it’s done. The house has never been so “done” before. No somebody just needs to buy it!

We’ve been looking for homes in the areas of Brighton, Milford, and even Ypsilanti. I’ve already chosen a “favorite,” but Gina is helping me keep a level head about it. We plan on getting an offer on our current home before making one on a new house.

In other news, a group of us will be running around in the woods of Howell on the 18th of February with BB guns. We’ve learned a bit since our first match, and hope that the conditions are a little less snowy this time.

Beer, guns, and steak.

Last weekend, a few of us got together in the wilds of Howell to hold an airsoft skirmish. Six folks attended, armed with a collection of hardware ranging from 170 fps electric rifles to 400 fps CO2 pistols. We played for about 5 hours, well into dusk. Afterwards, we ordered some carry-out steaks and started planning for the next time.

All in all, it was a blast… great exercise, too. Getting hit with a .12 gram bb at 30 ft. feels like brushing against a twig through a winter coat. Hopefully, weather will be a bit more warm in a few weeks when we have our next outing. By then, most of us plan to upgrade our hardware and move to .2 gram ammo.

Seat installed in racecar. Weather freakishly warm. No complaints so far.

Last night I was able to pull the stock front seats out of my Spec Neon and install a Corbeau Forza. The included mounting bracket made installation a snap. I’m planning on going to RJS (in Hazel Park) on Monday to get fitted for my firesuit as well as purchase any remaining safety gear.

I can’t remember the last time it was almost 60 degrees during January in Michigan. Today it should hit a high of 58! I think that the Automakers made a deal with mother nature to keep it nice during the Auto Show. Normally, the temperatures are absolutely sub-arctic.

We like Arrested Development

Gina and I have become fans of Arrested Development. Fox recently cut their order for 22 new episodes to 18. Most fans feared that the show would be canceled. In response, SaveOurBluths.com was created (and subsequently promoted on the show itself). Check out Arrested Development Mondays at 8/7c.
